I know, I know...how finicky can one human be?? But I like a lot of things...I warned you! My other favorite accent colors are REDs (and Coral)! These images are from Pottery Barn and all I did was type in the keyword "red" and voila..303 items to play with :)

And these two make a cute pairing too in a little sunroom/office...

Well, our San Francisco "summer" has officially hit and its gloomsville here today. All I can seem to think about is an escape to Lake Tahoe for the weekend!?! What are you up to? Any spontaneous adventures running through your noggin?? I sure hope so...

Easy "Pick" Me Up...

....pick a fresh flower and put it in a small vase (...a candle/votive holder does the trick too) and put it next to your desk or night stand. I promise...it will brighten your day!

Wall Calendar

Love this idea!! What a great way to stay organized but an even better way to fill that huge wall space!! Even the way the desk is off-centered...so cute. My only problem is I love to save calendars and look back at them to see where I've traveled and what I've done with whom (and theres always that..."oh yeah...its their birthday!!" factor). My solution...take a Polaroid at the end of each month and flip thru when you need to!

I just think this picture is beautiful...nothing fancy or shiny or new, but beautiful because I feel like it has a story. I do know the ending...it was discovered in an Arizona ghost town at an old schoolhouse. How it begins...well that's for you to think up!

That's why I love antiques; mainly because I think they're beautiful, but also because I get to carry on their story! What are your favorite possessions? I bet there's some history to it - even if its your history :)

Online Shopping for the Up and Comings...

When it comes to online shopping...I think Etsy is wonderful!! Promoting individual artists is such a relief from the overproduced corporate world. Not to mention...the chances of you walking down the street and seeing someone in the same shirt or sportng the same purse is not likely!! Etsy allows you to be an individual, to wear what you love, and it helps out people just like you! This is my favorite artist of the day ... enjoy!! BrianaEdelmanDesigns

Ive Decided...coffee is my favorite morning ritual

Its official...I could go on living a perfectly decent life if I had never met "Joe"...but who wants decent when you can have wonderful!?! "Joe" has certainly become a morning ritual, in which my psyche probably set up, but I gotta say...I love him :)

Last year my parents bought me a Nespresso machine (mainly sold online - check out Whole Latte Love.com or sold in select Williams Sonoma stores too). At any rate, they bought me this glorious machine and I'm in love!! Each "pod" is the perfect espresso shot (comes in different flavors and strengths) and the particular machine I have came with an automatic milk frother so you just pour the milk in and voila...perfect espresso shot with the perfect frothed milk and you got yourself a perfect latte!!! ooooh isn't "Joe" wonderful :)

Only downfall is that you have to order the espresso pods online - but hey - for $0.35 a pod, in my case LATTE, thats a screamin deal and my bank account likes me a helluva lot more too!

Changing Screen Headboard

I have to give credit where credit is due...my parents completely surprised me when it came to redecorating our home (apparently, empty nest syndrome brings out the creative side in people!!). For my old bedroom, which is now the primary guest room, they took an old changing screen/room divider and created a headboard out of it. Combined with the dark rusty paint, bold white shutters, and a softer accent color above the crown molding, I walked in and truly thought I was back in Tuscany!! See, my parents aren't afraid of a bargain, and the best place for a good bargain are consignment stores!! Its not thrift store cheap, but it sure ain't full price either!! Google some local consignment stores in your neighborhood and take a peak...you might be surprised!!

One of my favorite inventions is without question the camera!! To capture such beauty in an instant...bringing back the tastes, sounds, smells, everything that the moment represented right there at your fingertips...well...its just a wonderful thing isnt it!?! So I'm looking for a flat in the city and I can't help but browse through my favorite websites for decorating ideas! Just the thought of moving and having a blank canvas excites me; my problem - I get TOO excited and I love TOO MANY styles!! If I was clever enough to mix and match I would, but the end product would be quite hideous! So...I remind myself to K.I.S.S. when it comes to what I actually like - you know..."Keep It Simple Stupid". And the best website (and magazine) for your everyday run of the mill household duties is Real Simple. They truly have thought of everything to make life simple! From packing checklists to paint combinations, recipes to holiday decor, its a wonderful wonderful tool to have in your back pocket! If I had it my way...I'd have them decorate my whole life...but the odds of that are slim to none :) So I'll keep it to inspiration!! These are my favorites from today...

Not that most will care but I've always wondered how one starts these blogs I follow...the majority simply START. Me..I'm more of a traditionalist and think its fun getting to know a wee bit about the person (emphasis on wee) so if you don't care about me, skip to the next post. But if you're even quasi intrigued...I'll make it brief!

I was born and raised just south of San Francisco with my Ma, Pa, 2 big brothers, and a smorgasbord of pets; a few note worthy ones were- Goldfish "Earthquake"; Bunny "Freddy Mae"; Hamster "Butterball"; and of course "Misty" our dog!! (in case the thought crossed your mind...Earthquake and Butterball were not names of torture - altho they both grew into quite "large" pets :)

After high school in "the City," I went to college in AZ (Bear Down) where I grew to love all things desert (yes, even the 117 degree summers spent pruning in the pool)! Stayed for a total of 7 years and just last week moved back to the good ol' San Francisco fog!! Miss my world in AZ but love my world in SF!

Soooo - here I am - survived all 25 years of this amazingly beautiful life I live and excited to share the next, however long, documenting my favorite things!! Hopefully you find beauty in everything you see....just look for it!!! ;)
